The ANOINTED STANDARD TRANSLATION NEW TESTAMENT

Alot of people ask me what "versions", or translations of the Holy Bible I use. Like most, I started out with the King James Version of the New and Old Testaments. I have been reading and studying the Bible since I was 13 years old. As most serious students of the Bible eventually do, I came to realize the K.J.V. is loaded with translation errors. The text sources used by the translators were flawed and the translating scribes, themselves, had personal bias. Not to mention they were under certain censorship restraints by their employer, King James. Many of our Faith use the Ferrar Fenton english translation of the Bible, first published in 1903. Though it is a better english translation, it is so of grossly flawed sources! The Masoretic Text, the Hebrew language version of the Old Testament, did not come about until almost 1000 years AFTER the Christian Era began!! The original and more ancient Hebrew language manuscripts have long since been gone and exist no longer. The Masoretic Text was a RE-TRANSLATION of the GREEK language version of the Old Testament writings. The greek version of the Old Testament, called the "Septuagint", has been in existence since, atleast, 250 years BEFORE Christ came!! We know it was the version that Jesus used simply due to the fact that it was the commonly used Greek language version of the Old Testament during His time on earth. Early Christians used it. This is not only a historical fact but can be seen by simply reading the quotes and sitations from the Old Testament throughout the New Testament. Some quotes not only are more accurate when compared to the Septuagint as opposed to the Masoretic Text based Bibles, such as the K.J.V., but many other quotes that are used in the New Testament writings simply don't exist except in the Septuagint. It is also very important to know that the Masoretic Text, again created almost a century AFTER Christianity began, was the product of non-christians. A people who claimed to believe in the Old Testament but not in Christ. So it is safe to assume they had an agenda. As to the NEW Testament, the K.J.V. and all other versions of this section of the Bible, the case is the same. The Latin language version of the NEW Testament called the Latin Vulgate, was their primary source for translating into English. It also was a poor translation of questionable copies of Christian Era writings. The translators, though Christian, were influenced by the same type anti-christians that would come up with the Masoretic Text version of the OLD Testament centuries later. Thus the usefulness of both Old and New Testament translations based on these spurious sources is very little to the honest and serious Christian. Yes, such versions have been used for centuries now, but they also were and are used by our theological opponents due to verses and even whole chapters being either added, taken out or grossly perverted. One simple word added, omitted or mis-translated can lead to doctrinal chaos. And in fact has in many instances.  Today there is no longer a need to "fight the good fight" with inferior spiritual "swords". We have readily available to us better source based translations of the Old and New Testaments. Many of our Most Holy Faith use the King James Bible along with the Strong's Concordance to do word studies and to prove to others our doctrinal stances. Especially our more "politically-incorrect" and "controversial" doctrines. The problem there lies in the fact that either the scripture verse sited from a Bible based on either of the above mentioned sources does not actually say what is printed in the much more accurate sources of the Old and New Testaments or the wording is perverted. Thus time is wasted "proving" a point of theological and Biblical debate that really is just as in error as the one being argued against. The answer to the question of which Bible I personally use is thus: the English translation of the SEPTUAGINT for the OLD Testament and the ANOINTED STANDARD TRANSLATION for the NEW Testament. Yes that is two separate books. May seem a little inconvenient to have to use two separate books and to carry them around as opposed to the convenince of one complete book but accuracy is not for the lazy. The A.S.T. New Testament is a NEW translation of the oldest manuscripts currently in existence of New Testament writings. those being the epistles, gosples and "acts" of the early Church. It also is based upon the oldest quotes and historical writings of early Christian writters. Using them to confirm the teachings and thinking of the time closest to the first era of Christianity. The Latin Vulgate version of the New Testament was not used except in points of comparison which are layed out in footnotes and appendixs richly provided in the A.S.T. The A.S.T. New Testament is not a rehash of, or just another translation of the Latin Vulgate or of the Textus Receptus. It is a honest work of translation from the oldest Christian greek language sources of all the New Testament books. It is a literal translation of each and every word and thus due to language differances sometimes reads a little "dry" as opposed to the "flamboyant" Elizabethan style english the King James version of the Bible uses. Not that I personally have a problem with reading the more "poetic" and historical version of our english language but the fact remains there is a huge difference.
